Hail to the Victors!

I’ve been a big fan of the University of Michigan Wolverines since the mid-1960s. My first memory of coming to Ann Arbor was for a UM game. In the late 1970s I had season tickets and enjoyed going to the games. Fast forward to the 1990s and work and family limited me to watching games on Saturday that were on TV.

I am also a big fan of Jim Harbaugh. He’s a good coach and treats his players well. This season has been difficult due to the various suspensions he suffered through (six games). That said, the staff that replaced him during his absences did well, winning every game.

Getting into the playoffs as the number one ranked team was exciting. Having to play Alabama was less so. But the team pulled together and won. which lead them to the championship game.

Well, the first quarter went well, the second and third were rather ho-hum and the third was an exciting finish to the Wolverines winning their 15th game of the season.

J.J. McCarthy and Blake Corum were the cornerstones of an excellent season. Donavon Edwards was stellar in the first quarter. Mike Sainristal was excellent as he has been all season.

I’ll miss watching these guys as most of them will be in the NFL next season. But there are still some great men on the team and of course there will be new players next fall. On Saturdays you’ll find Susan and I watching the games – win-or-lose.
