We spent Christmas in Eugene with Alexis, Camilla, Oscar and Simon. We will also be here for New Year’s.
In stead of trying to end the year with what’s happening locally (which I might still do) I thought that I would show some of my favorite photos of the year.

I believe that this is the first photo that I have ever taken of a Bachman’s Sparrow. This is from Florida.

Two photos from Whitefish Point – The single bird on the left is an American Pipit. The group on the right are Bohemian Waxwings.

Barred Owl in Newberry, Michigan

A single Broad-winged Hawk from Whitefish Point.

A kettle of Broad-winged Hawks from Pt. Mouillee, Michigan.

A burrfish from Florida.

American Flamingo from St. Marks, Florida in March – well before the big movement of Flamingoes and Limpkins in the fall.

Fulvous Whistling Duck from Florida.

Great Horned Owl from Florida.

Hermit Thrush from Whitefish Point.

Hooded Warbler from Dauphin Island, Alabama.

Imperial Moth in Ann Arbor, a short walk from our house.

Kirtland’s Warbler male near Mio, Michigan.

A pair of Loggerhead Shrikes from New Smyrna Beach, Florida.

Louisiana Waterthrush from Dauphin Island, Alabama.
Continued tomorrow…
Loved the photos. Happy New Year, you two.
