The drive to McMichael “should” have taken 30 minutes. But the morning traffic was so bad it took close to an hour. In the evening it was similar due to the sleet and darkness as we headed back to the condo.

This painting was both beautiful and disturbing. The interesting story behind this is described below.

Definitely a disturbing background and sad party of Canadian history.

This instillation was hanging and slightly moving. Since you could view it from two sides it had several different ways of seeing it.

The First Nations art (starting with the first piece of art) was particularly interesting. The images usually depicted animals and people.

I thought that this flock of geese was quite nice.

This painting was of a Caribbean neighborhood. There was something about it that I really liked.

One of the many galleries.

Viewing this on line it might not seem as delightful as it is in real life. I found it hard to believe that this was a water color. The description is below.

If you’ve ever painted with watercolors you will better understand why I like it so much.

In the middle of the day we had lunch in the café. The food was good and the views quite nice as you can see.

Back to the art, this trout laying eggs was quite nice.

More First Nations art.

There was a gallery that had paintings by students who took art classes at McMichael.
Tomorrow I’ll show some of the Group of Seven painters.
