Why start a blog on Halloween with covid death statistics from the early years of the pandemic? Well, I was thinking about how difficult it was for kids back then. Somehow missing trick-or-treating is a big deal, I can remember that from when I was a kid. So, the solution for those of us who participated was a candy tube that was at least six feet long. I was at the front door masked an would slide candy down the tube to kids, most of whom, if not all were also masked. It wasn’t perfect, but it was delightfully successful. Now on to the present as we are approaching Halloween.

When we were out shopping the other day we went past Great Harvest where we saw this skeleton with a Great Harvest tee-shirt and cup of coffee. What a perfect way to start us all to get ready for Halloween.

Our neighborhood in north-west Ann Arbor is already getting ready for the day.

Oh-oh this witch didn’t make it.

But this skeleton was celebrating.

And nobody should mess with this parking space. This was across the sidewalk from my favorite Free Little Library that has a Cicero quote: “Whoever has a garden and a library has all that they need.” That’s my philosophy in life.

And finally, our favorite Fairy house is ready for Halloween.
More later, perhaps from Whitefish Point.
