Spending a few days at Pt. Pelee, Ontario

My friend Mike and I are spending a couple of days birdwatching at Pt. Pelee, just south of Leamington, Ontario.

I have seen this tower so many times, and it has never been open. Why build it if you can’t used it?

I have missed exploring the Carolinean forest of Pt. Pelee for many years. It was a lot of fun being here today, my first visit since 2019, before the pandemic started.

We went into Leamington for a late lunch at 2:30PM to a place recommended by a naturalist at the visitor’s center. We ate a long leisurely lunch. Then we went back to the park.

In the late afternoon we walked the DeLaurier Trail and the Marsh Boardwalk.

Then treated ourselves to ice cream before heading to the Sun Parlor Motel where we will be staying for the next two nights.

More tomorrow, maybe some birds, insects and plants.
