Finally, a slow day

After a few very busy weeks today is a rather lazy day. Some walking with Susan. Picking the last batch of Roma tomatoes (18.5 pounds) and a meals worth of green beans. Shopping at Aldi’s, which is a 3 mile round-trip walk. But at the same time finding some interesting late season things like this hickory tussock moth caterpillar. These, and similar caterpillars are rather easy to spot, as they scream out don’t touch me – I’ll sting.

A bit later in the morning we found this Revenell’s stinkhorn (Phallus revenellii) along with a few friends growing under the lilac at the front of our house.

So, even a slow day can have some interesting things happen.
