On Thursday we went to the Leonard Preserve in SW Washtenaw County. We were looking for butterflies and interesting plants. We managed to find a few, but the trail map is not very useful.

Pearl Crescent, Monarch and Clouded sulpher were among the butterflies that we found.

Eastern Wood Pewee. By noon we headed home knowing that there was a storm on the way.

When the storm hit, it struck with thunder and a lot of wind.

I took this photo about a half hour after the previous one. At this time the power was out and would remain so until 10 PM the next day.

The high winds took down a lot of trees. This is the path behind our house completely blocked by a downed tree.

On Friday morning we went to breakfast at Uptown Coney Island, where we hadn’t eaten in a few years. It was one of the few placed with electricity and was extremely busy.
