The heat from western North America is drifting east and should be in Michigan by Monday. Today it’s already 80F, but by Monday it will be in the 90sF. So how is the garden doing?

The kale and green beans are growing like weeds. We have been eating fresh kale for weeks. And I am really looking forward to the green beans, one of the favorite parts of the garden during the summer. Hopefully, there will be enough to once again can some.

The tomatoes are going their thing – we have lots of Roma’s and San Marzano’s, which will provide tomatoes for canning. The cherry tomatoes will provide us with tomatoes for salads and eating, as well as fresh sauces.

are already producing fruits. Can’t wait to try them and see where they fall on the “heat” scale. Speaking of that…

Most of ours fall towards the bottom of this diagram. The jalapeños don’t event make the bottom row.
