What do you do for a bird-a-thon? Why, divide and conquer

So today is the WPBO bird-a-thon. Susan and I participated. I counted birds from the “Raptor Roost” while Susan went to Farm Truck. Susan had a nice assortment of boreal birds including Spruce Grouse, Black-backed Woodpecker and Olive-sided Flycatcher. I had a nice group of migrant warblers and feeder birds including Evening Grosbeaks and Purple Finches.

The above photo is mainly Turkey Vultures, but also includes some Broad-winged Hawks and a Swainson’s Hawk.

And here’s one of the feeder birds – an Evening Grosbeak.

Since the bird-a-thon runs until midnight, who knows what else will turn up.

More tomorrow…
