An Easter miracle

On our way north to Whitefish Point we stopped in West Branch for lunch at the Lumber-Jack where we hadn’t eaten in years. It really hasn’t changed much over time.

With about a foot of snow on the ground, more in places, we are clearly back in the land of ice and snow.

A freighter in the fog. But by noon it was sunny and 40F.

The sign will have to change since sadly there is no longer a gift shop. There is however a hawk counter. The count started yesterday, and since today is Easter I consider this a miracle.

This morning at the cabin we had three Hermit Thrushes, so I guess it really is spring.

And finally, a cecropia moth cocoon. Susan spotted it as we were walking home from the point this morning.

Happy Easter to all who celebrate.

More tomorrow…
