We spent the day at Orlando Wetlands with Roger, Dawn, Don and others. W=hile we have been here before, it was our first time on the new boardwalk.

A day can be bad when it starts off with Black-bellied Whistling Ducks.

Having a Purple Gallinule at your feet is always a treat.

With the new boardwlk you can get close to a nice variety of nesting birds.

Being so close to a stork rookery was another treat for the day.

Anhingas were also nesting near the storks.

If Green Herons were nesting we didn’t know where.

Glossy Ibises were everywhere and easy to get close to.

The highlight of the day was being able to get good looks at many Roseate Spoonbills.

It’s hard to get tired of spoonbills.

A highlight for the locals was a nesting pair of Sandhill Cranes. These are their kids.
More tomorrow…
