A day with birds, spiders and more

Our first morning with Roger and Dawn started with seeing Painted Buntings. Both the male and female were quite cooperative.

Two spider species in the genus Leucauge. L. argerobapta on the left and L. venusta on the right.

Trichonephila clavipes, a large orb-weaver that had many insects trapped in it’s web.

This Polistes wasp was stealing from the orb-weavers web. I thought that was a daring, but interesting strategy.

The Whirlabout (on the left) and Three-spotted skipper were first for this trip south.

Dinner after our adventures was at Mi Mexico a favorite place to eat.
