I got up this morning in the cool darkness and started a fire which quickly started warming the house. Then I got the coffee going. The perfect start to the day.
Heading into Paradise, eleven miles from our cabin, we spotted a Ruffed Grouse on the side of the road. Needless to say I didn’t have my camera and had to settle a couple of quick cell phone photos.

By the time we had settled in back at the cabin the real snow started falling. The left photo is looking east towards Whitefish Bay, which you can’t see. The right photo is looking west from our bedroom.
This morning this tree had no snow in it. Now it has just about as much as it can hold.
