Some animals from 2022

Starting our year in Florida in late January, 2022 meant that we had the pleasure of seeing lots of anoles.

Another Florida highlight were gopher tortoises. We are now pretty good at knowing how to find them.

Congaree National Park in South Carolina has a delightful boardwalk. We were able to look down on many plants and birds and were lucky to find this water snake basking on a stump.

A sweet little mammal from Michigan is the Least Chipmunk. Over the past few years these small mammals have started to repopulate Whitefish Point. I think that they disappeared or became quite hard to find in the 1990s then Pine Martens started increasing in number.
