Into the fog heading south

We went out for dinner last night and this poster caught my eye.

Before the rain started, the noise outside was mainly due to a murder (of crows).

The heavy rain at Whitefish Point gave way to fog near the Tahquamenon Rivermouth. This would last until south of Mackinaw City.

Near Trout Lake the fog became quite heavy. Our goal was to reach Moran for lunch.

Had a set at King’s Fish Market, and had a great whitefish basket. Then it was on the road again.

At the Mackinac Bridge the fog was 40-50 feet above us. We could see the clear roads in the distance, which of course were slower because of construction.

With 35. miles left in the tank (per the car) we pulled into the Shell station in Gaylord, which still has the cheapest gas between Ann Arbor and Paradise. By the way, don’t get gas in Paradise, it’s a ridiculous $4.69 a gallon>. That price is 50¢ more than Trout Lake, which is close to the norm for the eastern U.P.

Made it home in time for dinner, picking tomatoes and hot peppers from the garden and getting ready for tomorrows adventure.

Until then…
