I-75 in August and more

A beautiful sunrise this morning at Whitefish Point. This was a nice way to start the day after yesterdays hectic ride north. But there were things to entertain us.

From Flint north, when I am not driving I take photos of cannabis signs. It’s a fun way to pass the time in the car.

I like the “snow flakes” on this sign.

We haven’t gone very far yet.

One hundred and sixty miles north and I took the last photo.

The perfect sky for hawk watching (from yesterday). For those of you who don’t follow hawk migration and migration sites the fall migration at the Florida Keys Hawk Watch can be spectacular. They usually get a lot of Ospreys and kites, but the last week has been ridiculous. In the past six days they had 3200 Swallow-tailed Kites! This included 900 passing over in one long group. I’ll have to remember to be down there some year in mid-August just to see this.

More tomorrow…
