Dinosauria

We were able to go to Dinosauria at the zoo yesterday where we got to see animatronic models of many of the dinosaurs that we saw at the museum the other day. We started with this dimetrodon.

Then we went on to larger dinosaurs that roared with jaws moving heads turning and arms grabbing at things.

But you had to be very careful not to leave the path.

There were several packs of deinonychus hunting.

Predatory dinosaurs seemed to dominate.

But there were herbivores too.

There were a variety of horned dinosaurs.

Some herbivores were munching on trees.

The kids (an me) loved the life-sized quetzalcoatlus.

We even posed with it so Alexis could take our picture.

A giant crocodilian was hunting nearby.

But a mother triceratops was defending her young.

The young triceratops looking wide-eyed across at the crocodilian.

The kids were able to get close to another large herbivore.

But the last dinosaur was a T-rex that almost chased us to the gift shop.

More tomorrow…
