Starting June with a celebration

The day started with breakfast at Village Kitchen our local favorite place for breakfast. We were celebrating my birthday. Then I got a message that there was a Black-bellied Whistling-Duck at Gallup Park. While I have seen tens of thousands in the south, I had never seen one in Michigan, let alone Ann Arbor.

This was about as easy a bird to see as any state bird I have ever seen.

In the evening we had dinner with Steve and Chellie and their family at Palio. Steve and I have known each other for 56 years and have celebrated our birthdays together since then. When I tell people that were born on the same day they are shocked.

Sitting outside at dinner on a beautiful June evening I was able to see an Ann Arbor landmark – The Beer Depot.

Considering I have carried a camera with me where ever I go, this seemed an appropriate way to end the day.

More tomorrow…
