New Orleans meeting – 2013

But first, what’s happening in the Ukraine. The attack on the nuclear power plant is both scary and unimaginable. I hope that this is all resolved soon.

In 2013 I was invited to an Anatomy & Physiology meeting in New Orleans. Susan was able to attend with me. She was able to wander town while I worked at the meeting. But on our final day we got to wander Bourbon Street, a short walk from the A&P venue.

Some of the buildings were impressive with classic French Quarter balconies.

At a shop selling women’s shoes this was an interesting high-heel. I cannot imagine somebody wearing this.

Pat O’s – the night before we were wined and dined as a major publishing company wanted me to work on a book project. Three hurricanes later and I said sure.

I think that absinthe has changed over the years with the removal of most of the wormwood component.

One shop on Bourbon Street sold interesting lamps.

I think that we had crawdads with one meal, but don’t remember any mango daiquiris.

An interesting museum – The New Orleans Pharmacy Museum.

No shortage of interesting street signs or scenes. We’ll have to go back another time.

More later…
