Since today is Tuesday, 22 February 2022 and we switched drivers at 2:22 pm, it seemed appropriate to start off with a photo of the screen in our car.

Sunrise this morning at Fernandina Beach. Venus is high to the upper right.

We stopped to pick up treats for friends and I couldn’t resist Bert and Ernie, two good friends.

Then we went to Congaree National Park in South Carolina, our 2nd state north of Florida.

Our visit here was dominated by herps.

Well, I’m not a herp, but this is me with an old bald cypress – two old guys.

Two cypress knees covered with moss.

Two bald cypress, one young, one old.

A Carolina anole, our second herp of the day.

Our last sighting of the day, and first snake of the trip. I believe this is a member of the genus Nerodia, a water snake.
So ended our “2s-day.”
More tomorrow…
