Another full day at Canaveral National Seashore

Red mangrove, flowers and fruits. A nice way to start our day.

As we continued our walk today into the Eldora Hammock Trail, we found quite a few Shoestring ferns. This one was nearly two-feet in length.

Moths have become a bigger part of our trip south this year. We havre been setting up lights and a sheet to attract them at the place that we are staying. But it’s always fun to find one during our more wild walks. We’re working on the identification of this one.

A new beetle for me was this Palmetto tortoise beetle which was one of three on this dwarf palmetto, which seemed quite appropriate.

This epiphytic orchid was our last interesting plant of the day, as we were rushing to get back to the place we were staying for low tide.

More tomorrow…
