The color of the day and dinner last night

I made lamb kofta for dinner last night. I’ve been making this for years. it requires some planning. The day before I made the kofta spice mix. Then I prepared the kofta mix. Susan pan fried the kofta. It was served with a mint-lemon yogurt sauce, steamed carrots, brown rice and kale (still getting it from our garden) sautéed with pine nuts, onions and garlic. Then everything is served with quartered flat breads. Dinner ties into the color theme – orange/red.

Earlier this week, Steve and Chellie invited us over for cherry pie. Steve made the pie. It was rather wonderful and reminded me of all of the wonderful times the four of us have shared over the years.

The Little Caesars Pizza on Stadium is both orange and food related, although I’d rather make pizza than get one from a pizza joint.

And finally the Speedway closest to us is related to both food and color. Food? It’s the only place within walking distance that we can go for ice cream! I think that qualifies as food.

More tomorrow…
