The virus, gas prices and more

On our way to get KN95 masks from the county we passed the closest “weed” shop to us. I have now collected quite a few images of marijuana related ads, billboards and shops. Just documenting the start of a new industry.

As we passed the neighborhood gas station where we usually get gas I realized that we should have stopped and filled the tank. But we had plenty of gas to get to Ypsilanti (where the mask pickup was located) and back. Well…

We passed the Shell station near the freeway (I-94). Hmm, 10 cents a gallon more. Nope not stopping here. Actually, since this station exhibits the typical “freeway effect” high prices we never stop here.

Hah! Close to the County Health Services in Ypsilanti there was a bit of a price war happening. This was 42 cents a gallon less at RP Fuel than our neighborhood station. Saved enough to pay for the gas to get to and from our destination.

As we approached the County Health Service it was apparent that even though we were early a lot of other people had a similar idea. After waiting at a traffic light for ten rounds of light changes we decided to turn off the route, park and walk to the mask pickup spot.

Success! We picked up ours and a pack for our neighbor who was working. When we got home I learned that it only took 45 minutes to run out of masks. Had we not parked and walked (we got there 30 minutes after the pickup started) we would had never been able to get masks.

Planning in everything.

More later…
