Art in the sky

This is a journal page where I was attempting to capture the essence of a soaring kettle of hawks. I used this effort to create the following watercolor painting.

Painting clouds and the sky are a lot of fun for me.

An illustration of a Swallow-tailed Kite that never went much further.

A Scissor-tailed Flycatcher, one of my favorite North American flycatchers, with swarms of Turkey Vultures rising into massive kettles in Mexico.

That’s all for the sky. Now on to hockey!

The Red Wings are playing in Montreal today. It will be an interesting game. Both teams are coming to the game after losing. Detroit will be without Betruzzi, one of four unvaccinated NHL players. Since he is unvaccinated he cannot travel to Canada. This is the first of seven games in Canada for the Red Wings. Each game he misses costs him US$60,000, which is appropriate. I could go on, but won’t.

The art challenge for tomorrow is community which takes me back to some photography classes in the 1970s.

More then…
