It’s hard to believe that I spent 5 hours at the EMU Biology Department and at lunch without taking a single picture. It was great seeing Chiron, Anne, Skip and Marianne. Brought back memories of great times. It was also strange seeing my office was not a small conference room.
I also spent some time in my old A&P lab with Erin and the Micro lab with Rae. Hard to believe that I actually designed the A&P lab, which is also used for Neuroanatomy.
Rae, Erin and I then went to Maiz for a late lunch. It was happy hour so drinks (like margaritas) and food was half price. That meant that three tamales came home with me for lunch today. Lots of laughing and talking about old students, GA and staff.
Since I don’t have a photo for yesterday I thought that I’d post two from my A&P lecture in 2014.
In the left photo I am in the center at the front. The right is my view of the room. This was before class when almost every seat was full.
On to the “spiny” art challenge.

We probably all know the woolly bear a moth caterpillar. I never tough any of these “spiny” caterpillars, as many have toxins in the spines.

One year back in the 1990s I spent some time drawing the tips of white pines, simply because it was both interesting and fun.

A caterpillar from Panama that is just screaming at me “leave me alone!” I was fully compliant in it’s request.
Speaking of compliance, here’s a small graphic comparing Oakland and Macomb Counties and the use of mask mandates in schools and the Covid Virus.

Finally, how to see the planet Mercury the next few “clear” nights, if you are awake.

The line is the path of the sun.
Tomorrow the art challenge is “forest,” which will be interesting.
Bye until then…
