The art challenge for toady is “colorful.” The above photo of my friend Heidi’s paint palate perfectly defines “colorful.” But I also wanted to use something that I had done. So here it is in two steps. First there’s the illustration that the watercolor was done from.

The above illustration of a buckeye, one of my favorite butterflies was done for a project in the late 1990s. The watercolor was done as a gift for my mother a few years later. She liked having my artwork on her walls.

This is a print of the illustration on watercolor paper that I then painted. It’s mounted behind glass and difficult to photograph.
A final “colorful” image is a photo that Susan took at Hendrick’s Park in Eugene, Oregon of Milly walking with me. We were having a picnic and a hike. She was so excited. She got her back pack, hat and binoculars. Then when we got out of the car she found the perfect walking-stick and off we headed. Every time I see this photo I can help but smile.

The challenge for tomorrow is “wiggly.” For me that’s boring, and difficult – so I am keeping the “W” and showing you how I loosen up after a tense period in life.
