A leafy art challenge

Oak leaves

The challenge for day was called “leafy.” As a result I first choose an illustration that I had done for Along the Huron, back in the mid-1990s. Then I thought about a sketch in the woody plants journal that I did in 1995.

Bur oak.

Finally, I’ll add a photo from the Baltimore Aquarium that I took in 2002 when we were visiting Washington, D.C. for Susan’s Presidential Teaching Award. The whole trip was a lot of fun, and I’ll probably use some watercolors of the White House and Capitol Building. But for now a Leafy Sea-Dragon, which is a sea-horse that is native to the Sargasso Sea.

The challenge for tomorrow is “Prehistoric.”

More then…
