The squash is all in, and the last of the tomatoes and green beans will soon be in as well. There are still a few hot peppers in the garden as well as two small eggplants and some herbs. Soon the garden will be put to sleep for the winter, except for the kale.
The art-challenge for yesterday was jumping, and for today is evolution.

I think that this old illustration of a grasshopper is perfect for jumping, as they are always jumping away from me. Now, on to evolution.

I did the above sketch of a Herresaurus at a museum, possibly the Field Museum in Chicago. I did a bunch of dinosaur sketches at the Field Museum and the University of Michigan Museum of Natural History, where for two years I had an office in the Insect Division. The next drawings, both probably from Chicago – Protoceratops and Triceratops.

The final drawing is one of the “Terror Birds” from Brazil. It was a giant, flightless bird, Bigger than any modern bird and an apex predator on the tall grasslands.
Well, I guess that I am finally caught up with the art-challenge.
The challenge for tomorrow is “leafy.”
Stay tuned for more…
